He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. Colossians 2:14-15
Yesterday we were reminded that the enemy is always wanting to steal from us, our joy, peace, provision, hope, health, whatever he can. Now if that’s not bad enough, it isn’e like he’s stealing it so he can use it. Oh no, once he steals it from us, he just tosses it away like garbage. That’s right, everything Jesus paid for with His life, he just throws away.
Once I got a revelation of this, I knew something had to change. No one, especially the devil and his henchmen were going to do that to what cost Jesus His life. And since the best way to defeat the devil is with the Word of God today’s verse was perfect. It helped me paint a picture in my mind that whenever I would allow him to steal something from me, he would be rolling around on the floor laughing at me! Trying to make a fool out of me and making me feel like a less then, unqualified, guilty and condemned. And then I begin to remind him that he and his henchmen were disarmed of all their weapons, and were led away publicly in shame and disgrace. And then ask him who was laughing now? Because the One living inside us is greater than he who is living in this world,
Those who have received the gift of Salvation by accepting Jesus as their Savior and Lord have all the weapons and tools we need to defeat him again and again. I encourage you to make a resolve to not let the enemy steal from you and try to make a fool out of you any more. He already is defeated, stand against him with the Word and watch him flee from you and for Jesus to restore all that he stole from you.
