Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 TPT
When Susie woke up, I heard “I can walk, I can walk!” Now her healing was complete, she came with disabling blisters on her hands, feet, and mouth. Needless to say, she not only wanted to know more about Jesus, she wanted to know Him! And she prayed and recieved Jesus as her Savior and Lord. She told me she had a peace she never had before and she has been through a lot, the tragic death of her 12 year old nephew, 42 year old brother, and both her parents, kidney cancer, a broken back and now cancer.
As we shared our devotion and Communion as we had over the past week, tears of joy just flowed and over and over she kept saying what took me so long? Then she began to have regrets, you know the “if only’s”, if only I had done this sooner how different might some things have been. Her biggest one was that as life long members of a Luthern church when her nephew tragically passed away and the pastor came to visit the family he said, “I’m so sorry, I don’t know what to tell you.” The family became fractured through the weight of the pain and guilt loved ones feel after a tragic death, especially of a child. This close family was never the same and the distance only caused the unhealed pain to be magnified.
We talked a long time about that and prayed several times during the day. I kept reminding her that what was in the past, the good the bad and the indiffernt no longer had any power over her. Jesus died to heal her everywhere she hurt, not only physically and spirtually but emotionally and mentally too. It was a wonderful day of praise and thanksgiving, rejoicing and sorrowing, but mostly peace and gratefulness. As I put her to bed that night and we prayed she laid down with a smile on her face and a peace she said she had never known. She slept well again that night and she was looking forward to tomorrow morning. It would be five days since she arrived broken in every way, but the week was ending in a much different way than she ever imagined.
