The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58:11
It’s God’s greatest delight to see His children well and walking in His blessings. He gave His beloved Son the darling of heaven to be tortured and die on a cruel cross to provide healing and divine health. There is nothing we have to do to acquire this, except to believe and receive. It was Jesus’ great love for us that He was willing to become become our substitute and pay for all our sins and take upon Himself the wrath of God for our forgiveness.
I don’t know about you, but every time I think of what He did for me, my heart is extremely grateful. How can I not love Him, when He showed me how much He loves me. Although there is nothing we can do that would ever truly show our grateful hearts, it shouldn’t stop us from showing our appreciation. There are several ways we can do this. The first is to remember that our bodies are the temple of God once they house His Holy Spirit. Just as we take care of the houses we live in, we should take care of the ones Holy Spirit lives in. We can do this by eating well, exercising, resting and spending time with the Lord to be restored.
Another way is to use our health to minister to others and serve Him by serving others. When we fall ill and recover quickly we are a witness to God’s goodness and His power over sickness and disease. We also can be like Caleb and do amazing things beyond the natural when we walk in divine health. Remember Caleb at 85 was in the same physical shape as when he was 40. And he took the mountain that was promised to him 45 years before by Moses. It’s like he stopped growing old! And why? Scripture tells us he had a different spirit and followed the Lord fully (Joshua 14). He lived through the power of God and brought Him glory and honor.
Beloved, we too can have a different spirit when we whole heartedly trust in and believe how much God loves us and is faithful to His promises no matter how long it takes for them to be fulfilled. Remember 3 John 1:2 that says Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
