But you belong. The Holy One anointed you, and you all know it. I haven’t been writing this to tell you something you don’t know, but to confirm the truth you do know, and to remind you that the truth doesn’t breed lies. 1 John 2:20 MSG
Don’t you just love the bluntness of this verse saying you are anointed and you know it. No excuses, no questioning, just a to the point you have the anointing of Jesus. Which means you have been set apart for God’s purposes.
It also means you have everything you need to accomplish those purposes. The problem is most people don’t know it or how to activate it to flow from us. So how do you activate the flow? You simply focus on Jesus and all He is. You look to Him for whatever you need, whenever you need it. And we all know that is easier said than done, because we live in a society that applauds self-reliance. However, the way of the world is not the way of our King. It’s not about us, who we know or what we know. What skills we have learned or what socioeconomic class we’re from.
The anointing begins and flows when we know all we are is because we are in Christ. And as 1 John 4:17 tells us that as Jesus is so are we in this world. Jesus flowed in the anointing because He knew who His Father is and who He is because of Him. Just like with us this world drains us, but Jesus knew to refresh the anointing He had to spend quality time with His Father who would remind Him who He was, His mission and that He was empowered by Holy Spirit to accomplish it. And that same Holy Spirit is in every person who has accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord. And He wants to flow through you like He did in Jesus. And He did tell His disciples that they would do greater things than He did.
So are you ready to let the anointing flow through you to reach a sick and dying world for Jesus? If you are, realize you are anointed, that the anointing will help you accomplish all God has for you to do to bring heaven to earth. And in turn people will believe because they have not only heard about Jesus but have seen Him in you!
