“Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. Luke 1:46-47,49 NLT
It seems so very simple, yet it is extremely challenging preparing our hearts and minds for Sunday Services calls us to focus on Jesus. Yet there are so many seemingly important things that call for our attention and even more momentary distractions that steal our time. Perhaps a good way to prioritize is to ask; Lord, in what ways do I choose to make room for you in my life and in my heart? And, Lord, in what ways have I failed to make room for you in life and in my heart?
Sometimes even though we pray, Lord, just help me stay focused on You during this day and change my heart we find it difficult to stay focused on Him. When we find ourselves struggling to just cut out an entire piece of time we can pray, sing songs and recite scripture on and off during the entire day. It’s amazing how we can experience His presence in those moments that fill us and give us just what we need to get through those daily rough spots. And surprisingly we also find ourselves getting ourselves ready to meet with Him and fellowship on Sunday.
Isn’t that just like our Abba who let’s us still live our lives and keep our focus on Him. all because He is found in everything! I encourage you to give it a try, see, when we bring God into every part of our lives, He becomes not only our focus, but our help and our answers to the things of life and in the process He blesses us in ways we never knew He could or would.
