Will You Help the World See God the Father?

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  1 John 3:1

The second sentence in this verse should give every Believer a gut punch, because it makes us ask the question, does the world not know God, because we His children haven’t shown them who He is. Jesus came to show us who truly God is, our Father, so why aren’t we doing the same thing?

Could it be because, we don’t really know Him as Father either? Do we know how much He loves us and wants what is best for us? The problem is sometimes we just don’t see or feel Him in our lives. But is that because He’s not giving us what we want and so we think He’s ignoring us and doesn’t love us. But what would we think of a parent who gave their children everything they wanted, not considering if it was beneficial and good for them, they just want to make them happy.

So if God is the perfect parent, He surely wants what’s best for us. We may not like it or agree with His leading, but when we know He loves us, we can be assured He has a good reason and purpose. When we moan and whine about not getting our own way with Him, we giving a false impression of who God truly is. We put Him on the level of earthly parents who have faults and flaws and don’t know the full plan God has for us.

Perhaps the world would come to know Him, if when we didn’t understand or like the current situation would still speak of Him with love, honor and respect letting others know He has a plan and can use anything the good and the bad to work for our good and benefit. That no matter what it looks like, we know we are loved and have a great hope that we will see an amazing outcome that will leave us someplace better than if the thing that was trying to destroy us becomes the very thing that gives us success. Look around you, people need Jesus who will show them the matchless love of Abba Father. And how will they come to know Him, unless we not only tell them but show them Who He is.
