When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a noise like a strong, blowing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw something like flames of fire that were separated and stood over each person there. 4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak different languages by the power the Holy Spirit was giving them. Acts 2:1-4
Tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday to celebrate the coming of Holy Spirit to indwell Believers and the birthday of the Church. Although many things have changed about the corporate church itself, Holy Spirit has not in any way.
In so many churches and denominations, Holy Spirit is really only celebrated 50 days after Easter. But He should be celebrated every day, for it is through Him that Jesus lives in us and helps us become more like Him by enabling us to not just change but have our minds and hearts transformed. He comforts us through the peace Jesus gave. He makes us bold in telling others about Jesus, His love, grace and salvation. He strengthens and empowers us to do and accomplish more than we can ever imagine. He gives us hope, wisdom and helps us to see things that are not seen in this world. And these are just to name a few.
So take some time today to think about how different our lives would be without Him living in us helping us to become the person God created us to be. Then go to church tomorrow with hearts full of praise and worship to meet with other Believers and celebrate the awesomeness of the Trinity, our Father, His Son Jesus and our Helper Holy Spirit!
