Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
My Grandmother said there were two things we can’t run from, fire and water. Every time I hear about flooding I think of her words. What transpired in Texas is indeed a tragedy beyond scope. The death toll keeps rising and there are still may missing.
AS much as we think about those who died, we can’t forget about those that have been left behind in such a tragic way. Although we may never be able to truly understand the depth of their pain, we can remember what we experienced in a time of loss.
We may not be able to be there with them, but we can pray not only for them, but with them. Let’s lift them up before God of the brokenhearted and ask Him to heal their shattered hearts. We can also pray for someone to reach out to them with the heart, hands and words of Jesus. And because we serve a God of restoration for those who also lost property would have a safe place to stay until they can rebuild.
Beloved, our prayers are powerful and effective, so when we pray let’s pray with hearts believing with the faith of Jesus. In turn we will see hearts that are healed and restored, along with health and a peace that passes all our understanding.
