If you have the Son, you have eternal life. If you do not have the Son of God, you are not acquainted with true life. 1 John 5:12
Edward Noble was a man that loved a challenge. He loved to take hopeless cases and make them a success. That’s why he bought the Life Savers invention. There was potential, but they had to overcome some problems, like staying fresh in the current paper tunes. Although Edward used wax paper and foil, so many people had a bad experience they didn’t want to try them again. So he changed the packaging and asked the store owners to put them up by the cash register with a sign saying Five Cents. In addition he asked the clerk that when they gave change they would give a nickle to encourage people to try them one more time. His persistence paid off. Before the store owners knew it they were running out of the sweet little rolls. People began to be creative, using them for decorations on Christmas trees and birthday cakes as candle holders, they were given away as a sweet reward for a job well done, etc.
Soon other companies wanted their products by the cash register also. The problem was there were so many, once again life savers were being overlooked. And once again Edward needed to become creative. This time, he made a special rack that could just hold these sweet treats, and once again it worked. To this day you can still find Life Savers in the front of the store by the cash registers along with many other treats. And the idea still works, we still buy candy on our way out of the store.
Although there are many other kind of Life Savers only one offers the gift of salvation that sweetly covers every area of our lives. If you or someone you loved were drowning and someone threw a lifeline to you wouldn’t you grab onto it and never let go? Jesus is offering His hand to grasp on to and He promises He’ll never let go once you accept Him as your Savior.
If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior is a simple as a heartfelt prayer. Jesus I’m tired of trying to live this life on my own. I’m asking you to forgive me of my sin and being independent of your help and guidance. I now accept your Holy Spirit inside my heart and ask You to be the Lord and Savior of my life.
