Do not rejoice against me, O my enemy, for though I fall, I will rise again! When I sit in darkness, the Lord himself will be my Light. Micah 7:8
Winston Churchill once said; “Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” How awesome is that thought! We have made failure into a bad thing. It’s become not only something that you do or have done, but something you become. This thought has destroyed new ideas, innovations and inventions. The next great leader, mechanic, plumber, doctor, lawyer, health aide, all have been derailed by this destructive mindset.
It has caused us to become hypocritical and confused. We now teach our children that everyone has to win, no matter if you’re good at something or not. We give everyone a trophy at little league or knee hi football games. But yet we cheer like idiots for two opposing teams who are playing to get to the Super Bowl, World Series or Basketball Playoffs to show which team is the best of the best. Millions of dollars are made on shirts with the best athletes names on the back along with team gear and anything else their emblem or name goes on. Wait, what, I thought everyone won so no one would feel bad.
The truth is failure is a wonderful part of life that teaches us to persevere, develop patience, make the best even better. No wonder we live in a society where mediocrity is raging and causing children and adults alike to have entitlement mindsets. Reality check: you will fail in life many times. But learn from your mistakes, find a way to overcome the obstacles in your way. The only way to truly fail, is to stop trying. When you fail, don’t sit in the darkness, seek God and He will be the Light that shines on the answer that will lead you to your goal.
