Jesus often went away to other places to be alone so that he could pray. Luke 5:16
One of the greatest lessons we can learn from Jesus while He was on this earth is we need to pray. Sometimes it was very early in the morning, other times it was in the evening, or maybe during the day Jesus would make time to go off alone and converse with His Father.
The needs of people and the things of this world were constantly taking from Jesus. It wasn’t just healing and delivering people from oppression. It was people just trying to live in a fallen world and looking for answers. Here comes Jesus, willing to stop and address the issues of the day with compassion and an authority that was truly out of this world.
Jesus needed to be connected to His Father and be refueled by the atmosphere of heaven and continue to live it out on earth. Now if Jesus needed to take time, which I believe was on a daily basis to meet with His Father to have His heavenly battery recharged, what makes us think we don’t have to?
Bottom line is, if we want to have the impact Jesus had on this earth and be like Him, then we too are going to have to follow His lead and come into the throne room of grace and meet with Him. And as we spend time in His presence we will be transformed, not just for our own benefit, but also for those who are looking for those answers to the issues of life.
Transformation thought: “God speaks to those who take time to listen, and He listens to those who take time to pray.”
