Years ago New Delhi, India was the location of a religious forum. Representatives from many religions met together to discuss their beliefs. During one of their discussions a member of a non-Christian religion asked a Christian missionary, “Tell me one thing your religion can offer the people of India that my religion can’t.” The missionary, thought and silently prayed for a moment and Holy Spirit spoke to him and he said, “Forgiveness! Forgiveness!”
How true that statement is, think about it only the Christian religion offers unconditional forgiveness for those who put their trust in Jesus and receive Him as their Savior and Lord! Anyone, who proclaims with their mouth that Jesus is the Son of the Living God, that He died for our sins and rose again shall be saved! Old things have passed away and all things then become new.
Talk about a “start over”! And Christianity is the only “religion in the world that offers forgiveness, and why? Because it’s more than a religion, it’s because it’s about relationship. A relationship with God, who sent His Son to die and forgive us so we could be reconciled back to Him. Jehovah is the only God that comes in search for the very people who have been separated from Him by sin. I often wonder how and why anyone would turn away and deny such love. Or how those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord, could so easily forget that kind of forgiveness.
Have you accepted Jesus’ sacrifice of paying for your sins? If not today may be the day your life changes forever. Just pray and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to give you new life, and receive His Holy Spirit that will never leave you. Make today the day when all things become new!
