In 1933 Ruth Wakefield asked that same question, what do I have in my kitchen? She needed to make cookies as income during to get her through the difficult time she and the rest of the country was in. The problem was she ran out of Baker’s Chocolate and to make her cookies on time, she had to think fast. She found a candy bar and cut it up into pieces and mixed it into the cookie dough, a America’s favorite cookie was born, the Chocolate Chip or Toll House Cookie! And we’ve been enjoying these delicious confections ever since! I don’t know about you, but I’m sure glad she ran out of Baker’s Chocolate. Many families today are at a place where they’re asking the same thing; what do I have in my house? We’re getting so bored. Look around think of ways you can re-purpose something or create something new and different that may make a difference in every day life long after the Coronavirus is gone.
God created us in His image, and because of that He gave us creative minds. All too often we don’t use them as much as we should because we don’t think we’re as creative as someone else. But all of us have a measure of creativity if we would only stop limiting ourselves and realize how magnificently we were all made. A thankful mind and a grateful heart generate creativity because it connects us to the Great Creator, Jehovah God. During this time daily find three things in the morning to be thankful for and three things at night before you go to bed. You will find as your grateful factor increases, so does your ability to use the things you have at your disposal to enjoy life. Try it, you’ll be surprised at the outcome.
Now go bake some cookies!
