Let them all join in with this orchestra of praise.
For the name of the Lord is the only name we raise!
His stunning splendor ascends higher than the heavens. Psalm 148:13
Have you ever heard someone say, “I would believe in God if I could see Him”? My response to them is, “do you believe in the wind”? Their usual answer is, “of course, I can see the wind.” Well no you can’t, but you can see the effects of the wind.
This holds true also with God. We may not be able to see Him in person, but we sure can see His effects all around us on a daily basis, including in the wind. He’s seen in nature, unseen intervention in accidents or situations, answered prayers, unexplainable healings or just a feeling of His presence. He is all around us, softly trying to get us to slow down so we can focus our attention on the quiet simple things all around us we miss in our hurried stressful lives. Take time to just look up and say thank you for this day, for the clouds, the beauty around us, gentle breezes, nourishing rain, children’s laughter and I could go on and on.
Give Him a few minutes of your day to praise His name, not for what He has done or will do, but just for who He is and how He shows Himself to those who are willing to go beyond what we see and find the Provider. And when you do and look into His face, “the things of this world will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace” (refrain of Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus). What a welcome sight.
