What Are You Asking For?

“I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?  Jeremiah 32:27

The other day I read an Instagram that got me thinking how important it is to truly know God. His goodness, power and love He has for His children. It asked “What is your boldest, craziest, most vulnerable prayer request.” “Now ask yourself , is it harder than. . .” Parting a sea and making dry ground, protecting men in a fire, tearing down the walls of a fortified city with a shout, walking on water, healing the blind and lame and raising the dead. And that’s just a few of the things God has done and can still do.

So why do we so often pray such pitiful and shallow prayers? Probably because we forget how awesome and powerful our Abba truly is. Mainly because we focus and trust the things of this world more than on the Creator of it. I don’t know what you are facing today or dealing with. It might be physical, emotional, spiritual or financial, but when we remember God’s record of rescuing His children when they ask, the skies the limit. He wants us to see Him as He truly is and cry out to Him in our time of need. He wants us to see Him as the sea parting, fortress toppling, water walking and demon delivering Father who not only can but wants to defeat the enemy for us.

So tonight when you pray, let Him know the cries of your heart and let Him know how thankful you are for His love and protection. Then tell Him that you know there is nothing that is too difficult for Him to accomplish and that He has the answer to all things. When we see Him as Abba and Almighty God, that touches His heart to know we have complete trust and faith in Him. And then our faith will help us see what we hoping for, God to move on our behalf.
