You have armed me with strength for the battle;
you have subdued my enemies under my feet. Psalm 18:39
Today we have the honor and privilege to remember our Veteran’s and the sacrifices they made and many are still making today. I always thought November was an odd time to celebrate Veteran’s Day. But then I thought about it, what a better time than right around the holidays, when it’s all about family, friends and gathering together.
Unfortunately so many of our Veteran’s missed so many of those times because they were on foreign soil protecting us and others so we could celebrate those times for years to come. Or maybe they were stateside, but were on duty and still not able to be with the ones they love. Take time today to pray for those who still, after many years are experiencing the trauma of war both mentally and physically. The hardship it makes on their families especially at this time of year.
We owe these brave men and women so much. And even though our nation might be in upheaval at the moment, it still is the best place to live and thrive. And it’s because of their sacrifices we are able to say proudly that we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. So if you see a Veteran today, remember to thank them with a grateful heart.
