And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. . . The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” Exodus 14:13a-14 NKJV
As I was writing this, it been a little over 24 hours since the our nation was stunned by the assassination attempt on Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. An innocent person was killed and two others wounded have their lives hanging in the balance. Not to mention the young man who was the shooter being killed by Secret Service. Those in attendance at the Rally saw things that can never be unseen with far reaching emotional impact from this tragedy.
So many questions still go unanswered and some may never be this side of heaven. But there is one thing we do know for sure, and that is God was there and working as only He can. When we stop and stand still for a moment and consider how much worse the outcome could have been. Almost immediately people we asking how did we get here and truly asking with sincere hearts knowing something has got to change because we are destroying ourselves.
The Salvation of the Lord is being seen. In the Hebrew, salvation is a wholeness word meaning, deliverance from danger, destruction. It also means restoration to a state of safety, soundness, health and well being as well as preservation, peace and health. Salvation through Jesus Christ is transformational and changes all things. I truly believe in the days ahead we will see the Salvation power change attitudes, minds and hearts that will change how we work and live together.
Let us pray for us to remember the battle is the Lord’s and what we are asked to do is listen to and follow the leading of our Commander and Lord Jesus. As we do may we see the revival and awakening that is so needed in this nation and the world.
