Some people have stopped meeting with the group of Christians. But that is not good. We should all continue to meet together. We need to help one another to be strong and brave. That is now even more important, because the Lord’s great day is coming. You know that the Lord will return soon. Hebrews 10:25 EASY
last night we had our Annual Church Family Thanksgiving, and it was a wonderful time. We opened with a prayer of thanksgiving and then dug into the amazing buffet homemade specialties. But the real blessing was just being together, we went around the table and shared funny stories about Thanksgivings past, how we’re going to celebrate the day this year and even thinking about what lies ahead.
As we sat at the tables and I looked around I thought how pleased God must be, He’s a proud Papa whose heart is filled with joy how His children are enjoying one another’s company. We weren’t just “meeting” together, we were fellowshipping. Although it was getting late everyone just wanted to stay and when we finally did decide we needed to go, everyone joined together in cleaning up. It was a beautiful evening and although we didn’t have a Bible Study or Worship time in the traditional ways, but we still did. There were discussions on Scriptures about praise, we listened to praise songs, we were already talking about doing this more often. We were enjoying the delicious food God provided, talking about His goodness and grace and just having fun. And more than anything God’s presence could be felt.
Let’s determine in 2025 to not just meet together on holidays, but make a true effort to meet together often. Last night as we left one another there were hugs and kind and encouraging words shared. Food was shared to be taken home and God was glorified. Make plans with friends and family, especially those in the church to spend time with the Lord and with others.
