For God intended that your faith not be established on man’s wisdom but by trusting in his almighty power. 1 Corinthians 2:5 PTP
These days we talk a lot, we do alot of complaining and saing what’s going to happen if things don’t change. We agree when people stand up and say our rights are being threatened and give a loud Amen. We wonder why someone isn’t doing anything to stop the downhill runaway train of society. We generally don’t consider the “someone” could possibly be us. After all what can we do?
Today’s verse reminds us what we need to do is have faith in God rather than the government, laws and people. But our talk is betraying us. The way we talk you would think God has nothing to do with it, it’s all up to us to make things more “comfortable” to live again. Perhaps instead of praying for God to change our circumstances, maybe we should be praying for Him to prepare us to strengthen us to stand and be ready to give an answer for why we believe the way we do. Just perhaps in doing so, He will change us to be more like Him so we can influence and transform this world just like He did.
This week I heard Ben Coursen say it’s time we have true FAITH, Forward All Issues To Heaven! It’s time for us to take the same drastic measures King Jehosaphat and the Israelites did in 2 Chronicles 20. It’s time for some old fashioned prayer meetings where when they prayed for rain, they all brought umbrellas. When they prayed for mountains that were hindering to be moved, they believed it was already done and it happened! When there was no human way to make a change, but believed with all their hearts that with God nothing was impossible, all things were possible. And it was!
Let Holy Spirit stir the dying embers of hope in your heart. Call a friend or two and make a time to pray together and believe with your whole heart that what you are asking for; to bring stability and order back into the confusion, to bring peace into the hate, unity back into the division and hope back into the hopelessness. Remember Hebrews 6:11 reminds us that without faith it is impossible to please God. Ask yourself, do I really believe in my heart when I say nothing is impossible with God? If not, begin today to realign yourself to His will and lets watch what God can do when we believe with all our heart.
