“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:
The other night at Bible Study we talked about how exciting it was to be living in this time and seeing Jesus’ signs of the beginning of the end unfold. It also is a wonderful time to be able to share Jesus with others. So many people are beginning to question what is going on, and they seem to be seeking out people who “go to church”.
This is our opportunity to share with them the peace that Jesus gave us for such a time as this. Their hearts and ears are open to hear “the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ”. So many feel like the world is becoming darker and darker and fear is rising. And it’s a good time to remember that Jesus is the Light that the darkness can never extinguish (John 1:5). Light brings hope because we can see and when we can see clearly, fear is dispelled. The easiest way to show others His light is to tell them what it did for us and how we now can be at peace, even though it seems like the world is coming apart all around us. Take time to recall all the ways Jesus has been a light in your dark times, then be ready to share that with with someone who is still walking in the darkness.
