The child(Jesus) grew more powerful in grace, for he was being filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him. Luke 2:40 TP
Our theme and vision for the year is Enabling Grace. Because Grace is part of who Jesus Himself is means it has many facets. It is by grace we are saved, nothing of ourselves (Eph. 2:8); it gives us power and dominion over sin (Rom. 6:14); it gives us strength in our weaknesses ( 2 Corinthians 12:9); it helps us abound in every good work (2 Cor. 9:8) to name a few, and it works best with a humble spirit.
God’s grace is sufficient in and of itself, we don’t need to “help” it, we need to learn to cooperate with it. Since Jesus came to us in grace and truth (John 1:17), then the only way we can not only experience grace, but pass it on to others is through Him working in us through His Holy Spirit. Whatever we need, it comes to us through the enabling power of grace. We can’t earn it, we can’t create it, we can’t buy it, it only comes by receiving the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Himself. No wonder they call it amazing grace!
