“And besides, what’s the use of worrying? What good does it do? Will it add a single day to your life? Of course not! Luke 12:25 TLB
Worry, it’s something all of us engage in from time to time. But over the past several years, it seems to have come to a fever pitch with way too many, including those who didn’t worry too often before. It is taking its toll on all ages these days, even the very young. How sad of a commentary for our society and times. As we are reminded by today’s verse nothing good comes out of worrying.
We think about how it steals our joy, peace and health, but do we ever think about how it steals our wisdom. The reason is because Jesus became our wisdom(1 Corinthians 1:30) and when we worry, our minds aren’t on Jesus, they are on everything else that is distracting us away from Him. Now, it’s easy for this to happen because the enemy is so deceptive and makes us think that worrying shows we care about something or someone. But nothing could be farther from the truth. When we really care about something or someone the best thing we can do is go to the One who has the wisdom to give us the help we need. So if you want to be truly wise, don’t worry, pray and ask for wisdom, remember James 1:5 tells us He will give it to us liberally.
