So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Exodus 33:11a
Yesterday I read one of the saddest articles I’ve seen in a long time. It was written by a woman whose husband died from Colon cancer ten months ago and she gets maybe a phone call a month. Now she did say she does get texts, but often when she responds, it’s just another text back even though she says things like, this is really hard or having a difficult day missing him. And she’s been thinking, what has happened to us? We just don’t talk anymore and the sound is deafening.
God said it best when He said, “it is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). We need human contact, we need to hear one another’s voices, to speak face to face and physically touch one another. It’s a connection that God also desires with His us. Look at today’s verse there was not only communication, but connection, an emotional exchange that can actually slow our breathing and calm our hearts and minds. How many of us have experienced that from a friend? Jesus might not be with us physically but I’m sure most of us while in prayer or just crying out to God have felt Holy Spirit calm us and lift the burden we’ve been carrying.
The Lord wants to talk with us just like He did with Moses. He’s longing and waiting for most of us to see Him as a good friend, and unlike human friends, He’s available 24/7/365. So take some time and begin a conversation with Him, the experience will want you longing for more and bring healing, hope and so much more!
