Once again we’re faced with trying to comprehend senseless killing of innocent children. Although there is not way to truly comprehend such evil, we need to begin to realize this is not just ordinary evil, this is spiritually demonic in nature. Today’s verse is simplified in translation, but let’s really dive deep into what it is saying.
First of all it is addressing Believers. Now if we are having a difficult time thinking and doing what is right, how much more are those who don’t have a relationship with Jesus struggling. Their minds and spirits aren’t renewed and restored, and so they are filled with anxiety and fear and easily deceived and confused.
Next we are reminded that when our minds are troubled we become agitated and anger grows and eventually attacks every area of our lives, especially relationships. If this can still happen among Believers, why are we surprised that many of those who are of this world are constantly and easily angered over everything and anything. And although they talk often about being tolerant they are the most intolerable people. They are blinded to the truth.
Lastly we are seeing people that no longer see or respect boundaries and do whatever they believe or are thinking. We have become very selfish and self-centered and are only seeking to do what pleases and is beneficial us. And all to late the realization that we’re destroying ourselves hits us.
The type of evil we are seeing around the world is reminding us that the only thing that will change it, is for people to experience a changed and transformed heart and mind. Let us pray for Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to those who are searching for happiness but still don’t know what it truly is. That it really is not an it, but a person and His Name is Jesus Christ, who wherever He went while here on this earth He healed and transformed people’s hearts and minds. Let us also pray that God will use us to lead others to Him. And as He brings healing and restoration we will see revival and awakening spread across the United States.
