For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Eph. 6:12– AMP
You don’t have to drive far these days to see the celebration of the supernatural and death. It seems like people are decorating more for Halloween than for Christmas, and why? Because people are enamored with the supernatural, only not the good side of it, but the evil side. And it seems like finally the church is ready to go into battle and show the enemy he is a defeated foe. We can no longer pretend the supernatural isn’t real, because everyday we see occurrences that are unexplainable in the natural.
As believers we need to embrace the truth that we have power and authority over all the rulers, principalities and forces of spiritual darkness. We need to stop talking about and praying for God to do something and pray for Him to work through us and confront what is trying to destroy us. Over the next few days we will be learning about how to live our lives from heaven to earth instead of earth to heaven, since our true citizenship is in the Kingdom of God. As someone once said, “I have a green card here on earth to accomplish God’s purpose, because my true home is in heaven.
