I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 NLT
It’s been two weeks since celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. For some that fact has already been forgotten, for others they are still remembering and experiencing the resurrection power. They remember that day changed everything forever, and it’s still changing lives today. The first part of this verse reminds us His death brought us forgiveness of sin, past ,present and futhre, according to the Scriptures. He then was buried and raised on the thrid day again, and He didn’t keep the power of the resurrection a secret, no, He went out and showed Himself to others. He walked with them, He talked with them, He ate with them , He even fished with them! He was teaching them to trust and believe the Scriptures and know that He is who He said He is and would continue to do so. Even when He left them for heaven, He promised to send His holy Spirit not only to be with them, but live in them!
Perhaps today you’re once again feeling the grind wheel of life. Stop, Easter Sunday changed everything, Jesus proved that He has power over everything, even hell, death and the grave. He delivered us from the bondage of sin and has given us His Holy Spirit to live an overcoming life. If you never have asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins and come live in your heart by His Holy Spirit, then today may be your resurrrection day, all you need to do is pray and ask Him and your life will never be the same again.
