He who was betrayed and crucified because of our sins, and was raised [from the dead] because of our justification [our acquittal—absolving us of all sin before God]. Romans 4:25 AMP
It’s been a week since Jesus rose from the dead, which so to speak “sealed the deal”. As today’s verse tells us His cricufixion and death on the cross was so our sins would be paid for. Which how many of us are saying “Thank You Jesus!” But the verse continues, telling us that when He was resurrected He showed through conquering death that we have been released, set free of all our sins, past, present and future.
Now the enemy wants us to stay a prisoner although we have been declared innocent of all charges. His resurrection is our proof that He keeps His promises and that we can trust Him no matter how it may appear. So when the enemy wants to try to tell us we’re guilty, we can tell him that we have been acquitted of all charges.
Jesus also continued to walk this earth for 40 days after His resurrection to preach and teach us how to exchange living by the rule of the Law and walk with Him in grace and power and His Kingdom. Over the next several weeks we will be seeing how Jesus kept reminding them that He had fulfilled the Law and so now in order to follow the Law, we would be following Him. A life lived in and through grace will truly be the abundant life that Jesus died and rose again to provide for us!
