Not long ago one morning I woke to look out and see ominous black clouds on the horizon. But as the sun rose those black clouds turned a deep red, and it was beautiful. Even though I was reminded of the saying “red sky in the morning, sailor’s warning”, I couldn’t help but be taken by the beauty I was seeing. I went about getting ready to feed my dogs and when I looked out again, the sun had become so bright the red clouds were now white and a heavenly glow was radiating from behind them.
As I was taking communion that morning I couldn’t help but recall what I had seen and how much it ran parallel to our spiritual walk and growth. Sometimes we have a darkness of soul. We don’t know what it is, but there is just something missing, or an uneasiness in our spirit. So we think about the love of Jesus, and how He was willing to endure public humiliation, a beating that render Him beyond human recognition (Isaiah 52:14) and died a cursed death on a cross. His healing, peace, forgiveness, grace and mercy for us ran blood red to break the power of sin over us once and for all. Then as we receive His blood to pay for the wrath of our sin we are cleansed from all unrighteousness and washed whiter than snow! Now we can not only walk and live in the Light (1 John 1:7), so that whatever darkness we feel can be revealed and dispelled. But we have also become the light, (Matthew 5:14) in this dark world.
Remember, when darkness stands next to light, light always wins. ALWAYS!!!!!!!!
And you will open their eyes to their true condition, so that they may turn from darkness to the Light[a]and from the power[b]of Satan to the power of God. By placing their faith in me they will receive the total forgiveness[c]of sins and be made holy, taking hold of the inheritance that I give to my children!’ Acts 26:18 TPT
