Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. A branch cannot bear fruit if it is disconnected from the vine, and neither will you if you are not connected to Me. John 15:4 VOICE
I love the word abide especially in the Greek (meno), it means to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):—continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry. Look at the depth of the first description, it is all encompassing!
To stay in a given place, Jesus. Once we accept Him as our Savior and Lord, He is always abiding in us, but when we remember that we’re also abiding in Him can we receive all He has made available to us. A state, we are now reconciled back to Abba Father. Our relationship, we are joint heirs with Jesus, children of the Most High God and the righteousness of God through Jesus. And lastly our expectancy Jesus our everything, our hope of glory!
Only when we remember we need to be connected to Him can we carry out His purpose and accomplish all He has planned for us. Not only personally, but everyone that we will have opportunity to share Him with so they too may know Him as their Savior and Lord.
