I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living. Psalm 27:13
Have you ever had a time when you were just overwhelmed by the goodness of God. Yesterday was such a day. I woke up from a really good sleep feeling rested. I thought about how I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. I slept with the windows open because there was a cool breeze and no humidity.
Then I got to my Mom’s and in the field by her driveway were two fawns. I got to take her to the grocery store and we had so much fun. We talked about how beautiful of a day it was and seeing God in nature and she said “if God take’s care of those fawns, He surely will take care of us.”
I left her to go have the AC at the church looked at since it wasn’t working to find it was an electrical problem that could have caused a fire. In the process, he also found and fixed what was wrong with other unit. Called the electrician who had a scheduling change and could come and take care of it and because he had the materials needed to repair it, he donated his time and materials. Ended the day with mowing and enjoying watching the Barn Swallows feast off of the bugs stirred by the mowing and watching the setting sun.
Every time something happened during the day all I could think of was how good God is to us and how often we take it for granted. Although it was a “mixed bag” day of good and not so good, God worked everything out for good. Life is busy, but when we take the time to look for God, He always is there. I encourage you to slow down and appreciate all the Lord has done and is doing for you.
