I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine, He who shepherds his flock among the lilies.” Song of Solomon 6:3
Last night we finished our Bible Study How to Be Up In A Down World. Each week we learned through Scripture that focusing on Jesus would help us be able to overcome whatever is trying to hinder and destroy us. The best way to do this is to remember how much He loves us and doesn’t want us to go through life for Him, but to go through life with Him.
Religion makes us believe we have to always be doing things “for” Him, because that’s what pleases Him and makes Him love us. But that is so wrong! First of all Scripture tells us that while we were still sinners Jesus chose to die for us. Now if that isn’t love I don’t know what is. Next is that all our righteousness and righteous acts are like filthy rags to Him. But a relationship with Jesus, we become the righteousness of God through Him.
However, when we remember we are human beings instead of human doings, our lives become a desire to spend time with Him and walk through whatever this life has for us knowing He has our backs and what is best for us. Walking daily with our Beloved is a blessing beyond anything we can hope or imagine and our hearts become united with His. Then we truly find that He really does give us the desires of our hearts.
