Our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this vast number that comes to fight against us. We do not know what to do, but we look to You. 2 Chronicles 20:12 HCSB
It is so important in the course of the day to spend some quiet time with God. Our society has become so busy that we forget part of living a healthy life is resting, not only our bodies, but our minds. The things of this world are always trying to steal from us. What we hear, see and feel can wear us down and make us feel powerless to live a peaceful life. But Jesus made a way and daily devotions are geared to help you take a short time in your day. Read them for a well deserved rest and meet with a friend that sticks closer than a brother than a brother, the rest restorer, Jesus.
As you read His word your soul begins to be at rest. How much during our days do we need to calm our mind, enotions and will. Remember Jesus at the moment you are meeting with Him He is seated at the Right Hand of the Father. He’s not up and rushing around saying, “Father there are so many of them that need help, what a day!”. No, He is sitting resting in what He has accomplished for you, for you to rest with Him and receive His “so great a salvation”. And, when we embrace the complete definition of the Greek word Soteria and Hebrew word Shalom, can we truly receive His rest. They are both wholeness words meaning, deliverance, safety, provision, peace, soundness, restoration, health and preservation, just to name a few!
But the best news is, all of them are found in the person of Jesus Christ, for He is our Salvation! So whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed, or hurried, take a break, meet with Jesus and find the rest you need.
