I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:13
The other day I was answering an Instagram and after I went back to the homepage, a screen came up and I began reading it, when it said, if you are reading this you have a strong mind. I then realized I was reading words that were not complete, only the first and last letters were correct. For some reason people with a strong mind can complete the correct word just by having the first and last letters in the right place.
Two things came to my mind, 1 Corinthians 2:16 that says we have the mind of Christ, and today’s verse that Jesus is First and the Last. Perhaps I do have a strong mind, because I have a strong will. And that has helped me through out my life in various ways. But I have come to learn having a strong mind although sometimes an asset, can also be a hindrance. Too often it would keep me independent of Jesus and His leading. I would have my mind made up about certain things as the answer without ever seeking what Jesus would have me do. I wouldn’t even consider seeking council. It was my way or the highway. How foolish I was. Yes, my strong mind made me determined to get through stuff, but having a strong mind isn’t enough to stand against the enemy, we need the mind of Christ Himself! Only then will we be truly wise, when we always seek His ways instead of relying on what we think we know.
As I thought about how I could see the correct word even though it was spelled wrong just by the first and last letters in the correct place all I could think was, when we see life through Jesus, our Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last only then we will see things clearly. Looking to Him can all the chaos and confusion around us, be put in order so that we can truly live.
Whether we have strong, weak or in between minds, they can only be strong or weak in the things of this world and that can only take us so far. But having the mind of Christ, is beyond any knowledge or wisdom this world has to offer, because we actually can see through the eyes of Holy Spirit who is Jesus in us and us in Him. And when we do, nothing is seen as impossible, nothing is hopeless, no one is beyond His salvation, nothing is ever the same. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, then you have the mind of Christ. Now the question is, what are you going to do with knowing that?
