Stop Thinking

 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. Mark 11:23

Today I heard an interview with Pastor Tom Laud. I had never heard Him before, but here’s the reason I stopped to listen. Holy Spirit has been reminding me I have the favor of God through Jesus and to pray bigger prayers that require the supernatural. However, at the same time I felt that something was blocking those prayers and I asked Holy Spirit to reveal to me what was happening.

Tom’s opening statement was ” I went out for the very first time on the street looking for somebody who needed healing to pray for. I’ve never done that in public before, only in church have I prayed for people.” He found a young woman who was struggling to walk. So he parked the car and asked her “excuse me, I noticed you’re having trouble walking, what is the problem?” She went on to tell him that she had arthritis throughout her entire body. The doctors have said there is nothing more to do, it just keeps on progressing and the pain meds didn’t do anything for her 8 out of 10 pain level.

Then he said something that even surprised him, before he knew what was happening, Holy Spirit was “shooting out of his mouth” well “I can pray for you right now and God will heal you.” Then Holy Spirit led him to tell her he was going to pray and she just needed to stand there and receive. So he prayed with authority he spoke to arthritis that was throughout her body. He cursed it and commanded it to go along with all inflammation and pain to leave her body “right now”. As he said “now” there was a moment of silence, but this time when his mind began to say what if this doesn’t work, he spoke to the doubts and said they had to stop and step aside, that they had no place in the spiritual things. He said spiritual things have no place in the natural or logical and he just quieted his mind to them. And in the silence he got out of God’s way to do what only He could do.

Then he told her to touch her toes and she laughed and sad “I can’t even touch my knees”! Surprised at himself, he said, “you can now”, and she did!  She was healed and pain free and is still well to this day. That was the day Tom found the power in thinking  nothing, especially about what the enemy was saying to him. Here’s what most Believers forget from today’s verse. Most of us truly do believe, but the enemy also tells us to doubt in our hearts and therefore nothing happens. When we are doing spiritual things we can’t use our natural minds, instead we need to step into the supernatural and use the connection with God through the mind of Christ. And there was my answer, I need to stop thinking so much and override the voice of the enemy who is trying to steal the victory that is at hand. And as children of the Most High God we have authority over the enemy in all things. Thank you Jesus for giving us dominion over the enemy at the cross and resurrection!
