Judah, and they were defeated. The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 2 Chronicles 20:22-23
The next day as Israel went out into the unknown, they were ready for whatever the Lord asked them to do. As they went to face their enemies, they found that as they continued to praise the Lord, He had their enemies destroy one another! How awesome is that!
When we see things as hopeless or out of our control we can’t let ourselves be deceived by what we see and hear. We need to remember God said the battle is His and we don’t need to be discouraged or fear. But sometimes that’s easier said than done, and in this passage the way we can fight the deception of fear is to praise the Lord. As we do, our hearts and minds are calmed and we can better hear the Lord. And He will move on our behalf and give us the victory.
Currently we’re living in those times, we’re saying we don’t know what to do. Everything looks out of control and hopeless. But be encouraged in what you have read in this passage. Don’t be deceived by what something looks like, seek the Lord and He will answer you. Trust and praise Him and He will lead you to victory and you will overcome.
