Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to his plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good. Romans 8:28 Phillips New Testament
At Friday night Kids Klub we were all excited to make Bag Ice Cream. where you place heavy cream, sugar and vanilla in a small Ziploc bag, then place that bag in a large Ziploc filled with ice and rock or kosher salt. then you shake and knead it until it turns into ice cream.
Well, we followed the steps and shook and kneaded the bags but it just wasn’t getting solid. The kids were so disappointed and saying they made it before and they got ice cream. So I prayed, God what should I do? And the Spirit said, “Make Milkshakes!”. It was the perfect time to teach the kids that when things don’t work out the way we think we can pray and God will help us find another way. They loved them and even wanted sprinkles in their shakes!
As much as the kids learned a lesson on how God can turn even disappointing situations around, we adults need to be reminded of this truth also. Things might not be as they always were, or how we want it. But when we take what we have to our Abba and place it in His more than capable hands and wait on Him, we can be sure He will turn a mess into something beautiful and amazing. What a wonderful loving Abba we have.
