But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it? Romans 10:14 TPT
On Saturday night, my cousin who had been battling cancer for the past six years past on to her eternal home with Jesus. Although it was a long journey the last mile came quickly. It was during the journey that her physical life was deteriorating, but her spiritual was prospering.
When she first found out she had cancer we came home from the doctor and she stood in her kitchen cried and said “what am I going to do?” My answer, we’re going to go through this together. The treatment combination of radiation and chemotherapy was brutal and took it’s toll. She had sores on her feet, hands and in her mouth, basically she couldn’t walk, hold something or eat! She couldn’t take care of herself, so she came to live with me. Her friend brought her on a Monday, what happened in that week changed not only her life, but all eternity for her.
The movie War Room was in the theatres and I was doing the companion devotional Battle Plan for Prayer. One morning as I was doing my devotion, the Lord nudged me to ask her if she wanted to join me. I asked and she shook her head yes. I read that days chapter and prayer, it was about Abraham on the mountain with Isaac. Although it was a struggle to talk she wanted to know more about the story. See, she was raised in the Lutheran church and wasn’t familiar with Abraham being asked by God to sacrifice Isaac and was wondering although he never had to, why God would ask such a thing. As I explained, I could see her longing to know more about how God works in all things to show Himself. She asked if He would show Himself to her? So we prayed for God to work in her body and bring healing and restoration. Remember, it was painful and difficult to walk, hole on to anything and eat. But God had a bigger plan than she could have ever imagined.
So come join us this week as we go on the journey of a lifetime that flows into all eternity. Every day is a new chapter of God’s amazing love and grace.

Absolutely beautiful devotion today. I enjoyed hearing about how leading Suzie to Jesus came about, and it peaked an interest in me to hear more about the ways you have led others to Christ. It is my desire to be able to do that someday, and I need to learn more of how it all comes about. It seems so natural in how it happened with Suzie. Maybe sometime later when things calm down, we can have a conversation about the ways and stories in how you have led others to accept Jesus I would like to learn how you’ve done it . Anyway , thanks for continuing in writing the devotions. I am enjoying making them part of my every day routine. One day these should all be made into a book!
