For he wanted to spend more time with his disciples and teach them. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed, but three days later he will rise from the dead.” Mark 9:31 NLT
Last night I watched the TBN Special, Good Friday Worldwide. Considering it was “Cancelled” due to Covid-19 it was absolutely amazing! Chris Tomlin and Max Lucado were going to have a concert for a sold out crowd of 18,000 people. But instead of just 18,000 that a majority of them were already Believers, it was broadcast worldwide when TBN offered to send it across the airwaves to the entire world! It’s so like the enemy to think he won, then Jesus turned things around and multiple more people heard the Good News of the Gospel. It’s a confirmation of Genesis 50:20 that which was meant for evil, God meant for good, for the salvation of many.
I love music, and although I totally enjoyed and worshiped with the songs, it was something that Max Lucado said that stuck with me. He said “there, between Good Friday and Easter, is a silent Saturday. After Jesus was crucified and died, His followers knew what just happened, and although Jesus told them, they didn’t really know what would lie ahead.” Then he said, “it’s just like us now, we’re going through a silent Saturday. We know the Coronavirus is here and what it’s doing, but we don’t know what will be the outcome.”
But there is something we do know from Hebrews 10:23 while we’re in our Silent Saturday, So now we must cling tightly to the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises! Jesus never promised we would be free of troubles, He said the very opposite, that in this world, we are going to have trouble, but not to worry because He has overcome the world! He also said He would never leave or forsake us. While walking this earth He showed that He is with us in the midst of storms, He’s the Provider in our lack and Peace at all times.
This Silent Saturday will pass, but while we’re waiting let’s keep looking to our only Hope and deepen our realtionships with Him! Why? Because He promised us Sunday is coming!
