Then God said, “Let bright lights appear in the sky to give light to the earth and to identify the day and the night; they shall bring about the seasons on the earth, and mark the days and years.” Genesis 1:14 TLB
Living in farm country, all day long I was seeing the familiar changes that occur this time of year. In the mornings I awake to the sound of the Cicadas, the rising sun peaks through a row of pine trees once again. The corn fields now have the golden silk blowing in the breeze on top of the tall green stalks. The sun is setting sooner and the lightening bugs are seen less and less. And there are a few crimson leaves on the Burning Bush plants that lead to my front door.
Although summer is still here and still enjoyable we can see the signs that the seasons are changing. Gradually Summer will turn into Fall and then into Winter. Where by the way we will probably be saying we wish it would be warmer as we forget about those heatwaves we had during the Summer. But all these things happen so that we can prepare for the change in season. It’s so much like the signs we are seeing that tells us changes are telling us we are living in the last days before Jesus will come and call His blood bought children into heaven to be with Him. This makes us ask the question are we not only preparing ourselves, but helping others prepare by introducing them to Jesus as Savior? And if we are not, why aren’t we for just as the lights of the heavens have their purposes, so do we and that is to help others be reconciled back to God and know Him as Abba Father. So let’s shine like the sun, moon and stars and shine the Light of Jesus so all may come to know Him.
