God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory: I call out to You on behalf of Your people. Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You. Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance. Ephesians 1:17-18
I love this translation, because it makes Paul praying for those who want to know Jesus intimately and in all the facets of His beauty so real. Like the worship song reminds us He is a precious jewel just waiting for His light to hit those cuts placed with precision to reflect the glory of His Father God. Think about it, Jesus coming in His human form was a reflection of God to us, and now we are to be His reflection to others.
It’s the beauty of seeing Him through the Word, which reflects all He is and has to give us. Paul reminds us that we have the mind of Christ, full of wisdom to understand Him better. He has provided Himself as the lamp to our feet and the light to our path. His Word lets us know He alone is our hope, like a light shinning from a home on a cold snowy winters night. It enfolds and embraces us like a warm blanket as we sit by a fireside. Holy Spirit speaking the words to life as we hear about the amazing life God has planned for us when we walk with His Son.
When we ask Holy Spirit to help us see Jesus through His Word, He makes it come alive and show us things we have never seen before. Learning new ways to apply these ancient truths to our lives daily. If you have never seen yourself reading the living word like this before, well take the leap and try it. Remember it’s a leap of faith, and it is exercising our faith that pleases our Abba God.
Transformation Thought: There are many wells today, but they are dry. There are many hungry souls today that are empty. But let us come to Jesus and take Him at His Word and we will find wells of salvation, and be able to draw waters out of the well of salvation, for Jesus is that well.
