Today at 4:00 PM bells across America will ring for one minute in celebration of the signing of the U. S. Constitution September 17, 1787. The Daughters of the American Revolution started Constitution Week September 17-23 “to give solemn and grateful thought to that eventful week in September 1787 and to express gratitude to God.”
At this time in our history observing the significance of our Constitution is of upmost importance as we seek to show its original intent. The Constitution was never to be a religious document, but one that would help our Nation be governed with Biblical principles. The revisionists may try to get God out of the history of our founding, but the bottom line is our Constitution is rooted in the moral law found in Scripture that creates an atmosphere of mutual respect for all human life and dignity that we can live together in peace and joy.
If you don’t have a bell to ring at 4:00 PM today, then pray for our nation and its citizens and they will be like bells ringing in heaven, worshiping and praising God for His love, grace, mercy and protection over this nation. And that the original intent of the Constitution will be seen once again, so we can once again truly be the United States of America.
