“Then he said to me, “Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia”. Daniel 10:12-13
I heard a testimony of a man who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer to which there was no lasting treatment or cure. he considered the treatment that would extend his short time given briefly. But when he learned of the side effects chose not to receive it, but instead decided he was going to rely on God. But the more him and his wife prayed the worse he got, but he was determined to keep trusting in his healing in spite of how he felt or what he saw. When discouragement would hit, he would dive into the word and the deeper he went the more it lifted. By this time thousands of people were praying with him for healing and encouraging him to continue to believe. Then one day he noticed a difference in his tumors, they were soft instead of hard and he was feeling different. And the cancer, well he was cured from it and it never returned.
As I was listening to this testimony, I couldn’t help but think of Daniel and how he prayed, but got no answer. But then God let him know the answer was on the way, but the demonic prince of Persia was hindering it from getting to him. And I thought, the enemy has not changed his mode of operandi one bit, he’s still trying to stop answers to prayer to get us discouraged so we stop believing our answer is coming. How different would we look at the delay if we realized it wasn’t God not answering it was Satan hindering the answer. And if he can do it long enough he can steal our answer and blessings. So next time you’re feeling unheard and defeated, just remember it’s the enemy doing what he does best trying to steal, kill and destroy! But greater is He that is in you than the one trying to steal your blessing! Then remind him, he is a defeated foe!
