Blessings come to those who read and proclaim these words aloud; blessings come to those who listen closely and put the prophetic words recorded here into practice. The finale is approaching. Revelation 1:3 VOICE
Hearing the Word of God does something to our spirits. it engages our spirits to listen to and respond to Holy Spirit and to long to linger in the presence of our Abba. It encourages our hearts to want to spend more time in it and reading it is the perfect way to do just that.
With the fast paced world we live in, we tend to make our time with the Lord fast paced also, if and when we do take the time to get into the Word. But when we take even fifteen minutes a day to just sit in the quiet and read the Word, He reminds us we are spending time with Him because He is the Word. Many times we find we don’t know what to read or where to begin. So ask yourself, what is going on in your life that you need direction, guidance and answers for. And now with Google, we can find Scriptures that fit our situations. Then spend some time reading slowly and drinking in what is being revealed to you.
Some people like to read through the Bible in a year, others like to focus on the Psalms and Proverbs, others on the Gospels or the Epistles there are various reading plans out there and you can pick one that works best for you. However the most important thing is to read them. You can’t apply the Word to your life and experience its effectiveness if you don’t know what it says. Proverbs 4:20-22reminds us that the Word brings life and health to our bodies, that includes our minds! And what we think becomes who we are (Proverbs 23:7). And we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), so we can think like Him. But we wouldn’t know that if we wouldn’t have read it in the Word.
When we want to go deeper into the word, we need to take bite size pieces, and before we begin to read it’s always good for us to pray and ask Holy Spirit to reveal the deeper meaning to us.
