Over the past week we have seen the amazing athletes doing amazing things. But we’re seeing the finished product of years of preparation. After all their decades, years, and hours of practice they make it look so easy. But it looks easy only because of all the time spent preparing their minds and bodies. Many of them have overcome devastating injuries, diseases, and life circumstances. And it’s all because they never give up because of their love for the sport and the desire to win.
In the spiritual world it’s very much the same. We read about great men and women in the Bible who accomplished amazing things for the Lord to bring Him honor and glory and so that others would see Him as God Almighty. God used people who didn’t seem to be usable, especially for the amazing tasks set before them. The only way the could do what they did was by Holy Spirit coming upon them working in their lives.
If they could accomplish all those things with Holy Spirit just being upon them, how much more can we do with Holy Spirit within us? We so often say, “greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world.” Question we need to ask ourselves is do we believe that with all our hearts? When we do, we will follow Holy Spirit wherever and however He leads. We will allow Him to teach us in ways that may be difficult and trying. As we do we not only will become stronger, but we will become more like Him by walking in His wisdom and grace.
One of the greatest ways to achieve this is to study and meditate on His Word. It is the best way to hear Holy Spirit because the Word confirms Holy Spirit’s leading. For Holy Spirit will never lead you to go against God and His Word. Don’t fear, when you hear His Spirit calling you to step out, remember the called aren’t qualified, because He qualifies those He calls.
