When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father,[e] 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth.[f] 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:14-19
Most people would agree that being a young person today is a lot more challenging than when most of us were young. We could let them just live and learn, but a wiser way to go is for us to pray fervently for them. Instead of complaining and judging the next generations how about instead we give them the prayer cover so many of us had. One generations faith is tied to and built on another.
Just as so many Old Testament people prayed for and blessed their families, so we now have an opportunity to keep the tradition going. Next Thursday February 27 is the Collegiate Day of Prayer, a day we can pray for College Campuses and students and the battles they have yet to fight on a daily basis. Just as Moses, Aaron and Hur prayed, and lifted hands over Joshua and Israel as they fought the Amalekites and won, we can pray over students world wide.
Our church has adopted three Colleges, Muhlenberg, Cedar Crest and Kutztown. So we are asking you to join us in prayer and fasting Sunday February 23 – 27 as we pray for Holy Spirit to move and send revival onto College campuses world wide. If you are concerned about our future parents, business owners, workers and leaders then we encourage you to join us in this opportunity to make Jesus known.
