“Rise up and shine, for your light has come. The shining-greatness of the Lord has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1 NLV
Although we might not be happy losing an hour of sleep, something clicks inside us when we see the sun shinning longer at the end of the day. There is just something about light that has a positive affect on us. We find we have more energy, our outlook becomes brighter, we just seem to smile more and we feel a warmth; all because of sunlight.
The same can be said spiritually. This world has had times of greater darkness than at others. But no matter how dark it has morally and spiritually gotten, the true Light of this world has always shone. When Jesus walked this earth He said He came to be the Light to the world, but when He left He passed the torch on to those who have accepted His gift of salvation and told us that now we are the light of the world. And when do we see light shinning the brightest? Only in the dark, and the darker the better! So how bright should our lights be shinning? Are you being a light to people today? The light of Jesus we carry will pierce any darkness, fear, anxiety, depression, sadness, loss, loneliness and the list goes on. Ask yourself today who you can bring light of hope to, so they can feel the amazing impact of The Light of the World in their lives.
