Jesus asked, “Do you finally believe? But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when you will be scattered, each one going his own way, leaving me alone. Yet I am not alone because the Father is with me. I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Matthew 16:31-33 NLT
Life is hard, we get beat up on a daily basis by words and actions of other people, uncontrollable circumstances and just the daily grind. Too often we sit and hold our heads wondering and asking the question; why is this happening to me? The answer is simple you’re breathing! The only people with their life’s troubles behind them are in a cemetery. Those troubles are Satan’s way of messing with your life, John 10:10 reminds us that his purposes are to steal, kill and destroy. He wants to steal your hope, joy and peace. He wants to kill your desire to know God better, to pray and have faith in who God truly is. He wants to lead you into behaviors that are destructive in every area of your life. But we don’t have to let him yank our chains day after day, we have an empowerment that is overcoming. When we ask Jesus to become the Savior and Lord of our lives, we are given authority to overcome in the Name of Jesus and by the power of His Holy Spirit, 1 John 4:4 reminds us that greater is the One who lives in us that the one in this world.
Don’t let Satan torment, deceive and enslave you one more minute! Face him head on by calling on the name of Jesus to help you overcome whatever he is trying to attack you with. It won’t be easy or even immediate, but then what battle is? Just keep standing up to him by standing on the word of God and he will turn and run. But don’t be fooled or leave your guard down, for he will come again at a more opportune time, so be ready to chase him away again. Ask Yourself: Why do I let Satan yank my chain when I know what he’s doing? How can I change my reaction and giving into his ploys? Do I really believe that through Jesus I can have overcoming power? Remember, Jesus told a father with a demonized boy, “all things are possible for those who believe!
