And then at last, the sign that the Son of Man is coming will appear in the heavens, and there will be deep mourning among all the peoples of the earth. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30
I call my Mom every morning to check on her and pray together. Most mornings we talk about the weather and most times we laugh at the forecast because from 8:00 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon it has a tendency to change. This last time it went from snow Wednesday night, Thursday night into Friday and on Sunday to rain Wednesday night with possible dusting of snow by Thursday morning and no snow on Sunday.
So why do we put more stock into weather forecasts than in what we know for sure, Jesus is coming back. We prepare for the “possible snow”, but are we preparing to leave this world behind? And not just thinking about ourselves, but also thinking about all those who still don’t know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. He is lingering in His return so that all will be able to hear the Good News of the Gospel. But are we who know it are we sharing it with people? Are we willing to spend time with others and build relationships that show them who Jesus truly is? Are we willing to become a bit uncomfortable for those “one time meetings” to plant seeds or water ones that are beginning to grow. After all we are we are often willing to share other kinds of good news with people, like good places to eat, beautiful places to visit or a good place to shop. So why wouldn’t we want to share the greatest news ever of Salvation with others? May we pray for opportunities to share this wonderful news with those who are still searching for that piece that seems to be missing in their lives.
