Remember that the sky, the highest heaven, the earth and everything it contains belong to the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 10:14
I was thinking about my cousin the other day, who has gone on to be with the Lord. I was reminded about several years ago I went on a long weekend to the shore with her and another friend in the Fall. It was a beautiful time of the year, the beach was quiet with few people. As a matter of fact, we were the only guests at the Hotel until Saturday. The heated pool was right outside our door and since the ocean was too cold it was so inviting and relaxing. But every morning and evening I enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets walking on the beach and talking with the Lord.
As I looked back on the pictures I had taken I realized that when the sun was unobstructed I focused on the sunrise itself, but the more the clouds were apparent the more I saw the reflection of the sunrise on the water and in the sand. And no matter how many times the waves rushed over and covered the sand when it receded the reflection remained untouched. God then spoke to my heart and reminded me that life is like a sunrise. Some days are clear and bright, others have some clouds in it and still others, well the best we can hope for is to have a ray of hope.
Every day we experience his love by showing us His power to overcome the darkness. That even during the times when it’s difficult we can still see His mercy and grace. Just like the sunrise, no two are alike even though He uses the same sun and sky to paint it. You are special to God, He only created one you and He wants to have a close personal relationship with you. He wants you to realize you are a reflection of Him and nothing in this world can wash that away or change it. Even though waves have come and distorted that reflection and the difficulties in life have tried to wash it away He still wants you to know how much He loves you and wants to be a part of your life. Reach out to Him and let Him help you realize the reflection of who He created you to be.
