Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
When we hear the word grace, we usually think of forgiveness of our sins. But it also is the favor of God as well as us cutting one another and ourselves a break. You may have noticed there was no devotion for yesterday, that’s because when I scheduled it to be posted, I put in the wrong time, so it didn’t post. Then when I went to correct it, I accidently deleted it, and I forgot to save it. I began to berate myself, when Holy spirit reminded me of one of my go to verses, Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Then I thought about today’s verse and how appropriate it was.
I needed to not only give myself grace, but I also needed to receive it. I needed to remind myself ALL my sins are forgiven, I am now the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, and if God has forgiven me through the sacrifice of His Son, then I needed to receive that mercy and grace and forgive myself. I also needed to remind myself that all my needs are supplied according to His riches in glory. He gave me the ability to write every other devotion and He will help me write all the rest. And I realized none of this was about me at all, but all about how much we truly need Jesus for even the every day, seemingly insignificant issues that happen. And it all brings us back to how great is His Salvation, mercy and grace for us 24/7/365.
